Career Coaching
Career advancement today requires heightened self-awareness and the ability to foster a growth-oriented culture that builds collaboration and teamwork at every level of an organization. More industry executives are turning to coaches for employees at all levels of the corporate ladder—and at all points in their careers—in the hopes of developing confidence and leadership ability.
Although career coaching traditionally has been seen as an intervention for improving particular employees' job performance, today it is used for wider purposes. In fact, in a survey conducted by Philadelphia-based Right Management Consultants, a global subsidiary of Manpower Inc., only 15 percent of responding organizations said correcting behavior problems was their top reason for providing career coaching for employees. The top reason, for 38 percent of the respondents, was to sharpen the leadership skills of high-potential individuals.
Organizations anxious to retain and groom high performing staff are finding the prospects of growing talent internally more attractive than looking for recruits from outside the company to fulfill leadership needs.
What is the objective of Career Coaching?
The major goals of a career coach are to help employees identify strengths and weaknesses, set goals and discover creative solutions to challenges. We deliver flexible resources to help you identify your preferences for dealing with stress and change, explore your personal leadership style, and learn how your individual strengths and interests can help you develop effective interpersonal relationships at work.
What is involved?
- Determine the need – We utlize Lominger’s LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® model as well as various psychometric assessment tools to help you determine the area of development that will help you be more successful in your career so you have more opportunities and options.
- Create a development plan - We create a targeted development system for you to improve skills which lead to real impact and real results.
- Take action to build and blend the skill - We help you develop stronger skills by focusing on closing the gaps—the distance between where you are and where you need to be to achieve your goals.
- Assess results - After working the development plan, we assess the progress to determine whether the developmental area has become a strength, there is an existing strength that can be substituted to attack a weakness, there is a suitable work around for the weakness or there is a need to continue working on this skill at another level or via another route.
