Business Writing: Organizing, Writing, and Editing the Right Way

Course Description:

Currently we live in an information and service society where business and professional writing skills are essential. The production and distribution of information form the basis of our economy. In addition, technological advances in recent decades have accelerated change processes in businesses and professions, requiring continual revision of policies and procedures. These changes are communicated through writing.

The need for clear and effective writing skills in private industry, professions, and government is paramount. This one day workshop is designed for adults across all businesses and professions who engage in every kind of writing from memoranda and proposals to letters, reports, and technical writing. Participants will learn how to organize and express their thoughts clearly, select the appropriate style and format for the intended reader, and edit their writing to create professional documents.

Participants are asked to bring a current business-writing assignment to enhance the program's effectiveness.
