Stress Management

Course Description:

When significant work or non-work demands exceed the coping routines we have available to us, some form of stress will occur. Each of us will have our own ‘stress profile.’ Stress can show up in the way we think, feel or behave, how our body functioning works, problems with our general health and erosion of performance at work. The particular signs of stress need to be identified for each person and appropriate action taken.

The cost of stress to individuals and industry is enormous. Although many people exhibit stress at work, not all stress comes from the occupations we pursue. Recent research confirms that both work and non-work environments can be sources of excessive stress. But when the effects show at work it becomes a serious problem for the employee, and can cost up to 90 percent of the first annual salary of the replacement. When you include the learning curve to bring new executives ‘up to speed’, costs to organizations can become astronomic.
